Three
guitars, three voices
Juneau
This
original acoustic trio has been singing and playing music together
since they were children. Siblings Anthony, Patrick and Laurie Juneau
were raised with their large family in a home filled with music.
Growing up in a small rural community north of Houston on
the edge of the Piney Woods of Texas, these three singers / songwriters
developed a unique style that sends the audience on an emotional
roller coaster -- between laughter and tears -- all in three-part
harmony.
The
songs and sound of Juneau are as diverse as the music that
influenced them. From the bluesy "Wishful Thinking"
to the country swing number "I'm Falling for You," the
entire CD has an unmistakable sound and feel that has "Texas"
written all over it.
Patrick,
Anthony and Laurie pursued their own musical interests through the
70s, 80s and 90s – each playing different musical genres with various
bands and acts. Over the years, all three have become serious
songwriters and their catalog of songs continues to grow.
In
1995, they combined their efforts, formed Juneau, and
started playing together in the Austin and Houston areas. While
the siblings are the core of Juneau, a complement of other
musicians is added, depending on the venue.
In
June of 2004, Juneau released their first full-length
CD titled simply enough, Juneau, which was produced and
recorded by Jack Saunders at White Cat Studio in Houston, Texas.
With muscians like Rick Richards on drums, Darcie Deaville
on fiddle and mandolin, Steve Palousek on steel, Patrick Brennan
on keyboards and saxophone, not to mention some great guitar work
by Jack Saunders, Patrick Juneau and Anthony Juneau -- this CD rocks
you, rolls you, mellows you, and keeps you wondering what's next
-- as the lead vocals are passed from Laurie, to Pat, to Anthony,
and around again in chill-producing three part harmony.
The
CD is available at LoneStarMusic.com and the LoneStarMusic Store
in Gruene, Texas, Waterloo Records in Austin and on this website
(www.thisisjuneau.com).
